A Roman bath theme was requested for the remodel of this primary bathroom. We implemented this concept with custom cabinetry, tumbled travertine, arches and column features, as well as a niche to display a beloved heirloom vase. Our design called for opening up the tired space – removing a closet to allow for the addition of a luxurious whirlpool tub – transforming the suite into a spa-like experience filled with light and grace. The travertine mosaic tile accent band you see is the same as a design found in the ruins of Pompeii. The original soffited (and cramped) shower / toilet room was expanded to allow for plenty of elbow room, as well as head space. The walls are fully tiled to the ceiling, emphasizing the gracious expanse of the curbless shower. Oil-rubbed bronze liner and accent tiles tie in with the hardware throughout. Experiencing this master bathroom suite makes one feel transported to another time and place.
